About the Artist

Robert Murray is a talented Aboriginal Artist from Regional Australia.   He and his parents are from the Wiradjuri Nation in the Albury/Wodonga area.   Robert is one of seven children and has one child of his own.  

Robert Murray's Water Spirits is a painting of the Water Spirits that live in our rivers and streams.   They are there to protect the waters and the creatures that dwell within.    Without them, the waters would not run and the creatures within would not survive as there would be no food for them.  That is why we respect our rivers and waterways so that we may collect some food to eat.
